More than halfway there!

In honor of finally conquering the beast that was senior seminar yesterday, I’m going to take the opportunity to just sit back and appreciate the journey I’ve had in college. And yes, I know it would have made sense for me to post this bunch of mush earlier but celebration with my fellow seniors took precedence and I had mentally checked out around 5pm. Anyway, back to the sappy stuff.

College has been one hell of a ride. I’m gonna hold back on the overall reflections on college for May, this one is just exclusively for my time in my major. This major has seen as many twists and turns as a roller coasters and bumped us around as often as bumper cars.

I remember the first day I ever ended up in a Comm class. It was for my introduction to mass Comm course. It was like 9 in the morning and my very first legitimate major class. (I don’t count those FYE classes during orientation in this equation) I was nervous as hell but then once that class started up, I knew this was the right choice for me. Ever since then, I knew to never look back because the people of the major were going to help me figure my life out. And you know what? I was right.

We’ve seen a lot of changes in our class year alone. We’ve had two different heads of the department. We’ve had our struggles with that brutal boredom that was Comm Law. We’ve seen different teaching styles. We’ve taken that trip to the NBA studios. We’ve done our internships and now, we’re officially done with senior seminar. We’ve all done a significant amount of growing into the lovely bunch we are today. We’re all so different and talented in our respective specializations but if yesterday proved anything – we know how to come together and kick butt when it counts.

Mass Comm is a small major in a small school but I love working with the various talented minds that are in this major. I actually know the faces I’ve worked with and have grown to love each class because you never know what to expect when we’re all together in the same class. All I ever am certain of is that an adventure is bound to happen and I’ll definitely get a few hilarious memories along the way.

We’re seriously a family that has grown together during our time here and I know that when if I ever need help, I know I can count on this group to help me out. We’ve survived this much and have got one more semester to get through together. I’m just really proud of these dorks, okay?
