I’m so done with everything. I can’t even put into that many words how baffling it is for this nonsense that occurred in today’s flight. If I wasn’t exhausted, I probably would have bashed my head against the window because this was absolutely aggravating.
I thought things would go at least decently after our departure from Agartala. Our usual wake up call of simple breakfast and waiting for our bus wasn’t too bad. (Hearing the lovely sound of the other hostel residents getting up and grossly clearing their throats one last time definitely could have been done without) But most of our little incidents were manageable until we got to our flight.
It was literally the dumbest thing in the world. Other than the fact that the inflight pamphlet was slightly offensively sexist, there was a whole incident with food. We thought, hey, a direct flight from Agartala to Delhi would make things easier. Easier said then done is so true of today. We were mostly seated in the early rows of the small airplane. Row 8 and 9 I believe… who knew that could be a problem.
For some reason, they just were poorly stocked, and hungry college students don’t appreciate when the food they were seriously looking forward to is somehow out of stock at 11am. But wait, it gets better. For some unknown reason at the time, service just stopped. Our fellow travelers in the group were unable to get food for a solid half hour because of this halt. We would later find out that the flight attendants had stopped because some corporate passenger was in the bathroom for this amount of time and for some reason the entire plane had to stop. It was unreal to see this and just irritating for one of our last days in India.
To make things even better, we had to wait an excessively absurd amount of time just waiting for our rooms. Some of us got lucky and had our rooms ready within 15 minutes of arriving to the hotel we had been staying at constantly during our stay in Delhi. It was kind of outrageous how long some had to wait, but it all paid off by the end.
Our professor had taken us to a nice Italian restaurant for our last night and the food was incredible. It was funny because we all finally had decent WiFi access so we kinda were on our phones, but for the most part because we had all started comparing pictures of us when we were younger.
The students are going to have one last adventure to the sky bar/lounge thing tonight. I have no idea what that’s about but I really look forward to spending time with this group at least one more time before we’re stuck on planes tomorrow.
Til next time,
